Sesame Steak

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 16 minutes

Makes 6 servings.

Sesame seeds add not only flavor, but eye appeal and texture, to marinated steaks.

Ingredients

  1/4 cup soy sauce

  1 Tbs oil

  1 Tbs brown sugar

  1 Tbs McCormick® Sesame Seed

  1 tsp McCormick® Onion Powder

  1/4 tsp McCormick® Black Pepper, Ground

  1/4 tsp McCormick® Garlic Salt

  1/4 tsp McCormick® Ginger, Ground

  1 1/2 lbs boneless beef sirloin steak

Directions

Mix all ingredients, except steak, in small bowl. Place steak in large resealable plastic bag or glass dish. Add marinade; turn to coat well.

Refrigerate 30 minutes or longer for extra flavor. Remove steaks from marinade. Discard any remaining marinade.

Broil or grill over medium-high heat 6 to 8 minutes per side or until desired doneness.

To toast sesame seed: Heat small skillet on medium heat. Add sesame seed; cook and stir 2 minutes or until golden brown and fragrant. Immediately pour out of hot pan to avoid over-toasting.

Sesame Chicken: Prepare as directed, using 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast halves or thighs, in place of the steak.
